A woman fell in love with the husband of her chosen one's mistress: the story of their relationship

A wife was distraught after discovering that her husband was cheating on her with a coworker. The heartbreaking situation then turned into a tangled ball of emotions when she found herself falling in love with the woman's partner. SSPDaily tells about it.

In a post on Reddit, the mom, who is in her mid-30s, explained: "A year ago, I found out that my husband was sleeping with his coworker. How? Her husband, let's call him Jay, contacted me. Heartbroken, he thought I should know too. He sent me text messages and met them when they were in hotels."

The couple decided to meet and discuss what they would do, and as the wife had lost her job during the pandemic and was now studying, they decided to wait until she finished her education. She continued: "If I divorce now, I will not be able to provide for my daughter. Because of this, she will probably be given custody of her to my husband, who is the main breadwinner. I asked him if he could wait a few months, hopefully longer, and to my surprise, he agreed. I thanked him sincerely, but he told me that he didn't know what to do either, so he was happy to wait."

The two kept in touch and eventually went for a walk, talking and laughing about various topics. They also went to the movie theater together.

She confessed: "I often thought about him with a smile on my face. He was the first thing I thought about in the morning and the last thing I thought about before going to bed."

One day, Jay confessed that he was in love with her, and she realized that she felt the same way. However, the woman was afraid of her true emotions, telling him, "I'm terrified that these are false feelings that will disappear as soon as we are free of those who hurt us. But he just beamed and said he was willing to take the risk just to find out."

The plan was to wait until she graduated and then "out" her significant other and end the marriage. "Am I pathetic for wanting to give Jay and I a chance and see where it goes? Can two broken hearts really find happiness together when their love story started the same way as ours?" - she asked herself.

However, 10 days later, an updated message revealed that she had decided to stop seeing Jay and focus on securing a future for her and her daughter. She said: "I came home and my husband had already picked up our daughter and they were just joking and having fun. I felt so much sadness and pure terror building up inside me. What am I doing? What are we doing, all of us? The guilt that came over me when I saw my daughter's happy face."

Her husband's infidelity turned her so against him that she could not touch him and wanted to scream "liar" in his face.

She added: "I looked at my husband and tried to remember what I liked, but I couldn't. All I could see was him telling her how great it was last time and what he wanted to do to her next time. I felt enormous rage and hatred towards my husband, as well as towards myself and Jay."

It was all too much, and so she sent Jay a "long message" explaining her feelings and how her daughter would suffer because of the broken family. He called her, but she felt like she couldn't pick up the phone: "My heart was stuck in my throat. I told my husband that I wanted to spend the night in my daughter's room tonight, and I stayed there often since then. I cried all night looking at her beautiful face, so peaceful and happy."

The next morning, she spoke to Jay, who said he respected her desire to stop seeing her, but would still wait for her. She wrote: "After that, I cried for an hour. I know my marriage can't be saved and that I'm doing the right thing by leaving even with the painful guilt that simmers beneath the surface, waking me up at night from time to time, but I need to do it now."
