Almost 60,000 liters of premium red wine worth about 2.5 million euros were lost at a Spanish winery after an unknown man broke in and opened the vats.
SSPDaily tells about it.
Surveillance footage released by the famous Cepa 21 winery in the Ribera del Duero region shows a man in a hooded sweatshirt running from one large vat to another and opening taps, causing wine to spill onto the floor.
The incident occurred around 3:30 am on February 18. The amount of high-quality wine lost could have filled 80,000 bottles.
The head of the establishment, Jose Moro, told Spanish public television TVE that the intruder's only goal was to damage the business, as no items were stolen during the break-in.
He also said that the attacker needed to know how to operate the system to open the vats.
"Everything points to the fact that the person knew where they were," he added.
The winery filed a complaint with the police, who launched an investigation.
