Man gets a record number of rabbit tattoos: how many and what they look like
A British man with a huge number of rabbit tattoos has set a world record.
This was reported by the Guinness Book of Records. SSPDaily learned more about it.
Craig Evans, 42, has 69 unique rabbits tattooed on his arms, legs, and chest. Craig says that when he got his first tattoo in 2009, he had no idea that he would end up with so many others. However, after he got his second rabbit tattoo during a trip to New York, he decided to stick with the theme.
He has had tattoos done by various artists from all over the UK and beyond, including in countries such as Japan, South Korea, Spain, France, and the United States.
Craig's rabbit designs vary greatly: he has realistic black and white rabbits, colorful cartoon ones, a rabbit with a gun, a robot rabbit, and many others.
Craig, who works as a TV camera operator, estimates that he spent about $12,700 and 125 hours in the chair getting his tattoos. He says they have been "worth every cent" and "every minute", especially now that he has earned a Guinness World Record title.
Craig's obsession with rabbits began as a child with characters like Bugs Bunny, Roger Rabbit, and Thumper and Bambi. Then, as he grew up, he began collecting rabbit-themed artwork from around the world.
"I love the aesthetic of the rabbit," Craig explained. "They're such cute creatures and I really like the combination of something as cute as a tattoo, which is usually known as the lot of cool people. Unfortunately, I don't have any pet rabbits because I have a terrier named Bertie. I don't think it would be a good match."
The only tattoo Craig has that isn't rabbit-related is one of Bertie wearing a rabbit bandana to "keep the theme going."
"I've always wanted to have an entry in the Book, but not in my wildest dreams did I think I'd ever get one," he said. "My framed certificate has a place of honor on my living room wall, and I am truly proud and happy! This is a dream come true."
