Romantic trick: police officer in teddy bear costume with candy detains drug dealer - video
A Peruvian policeman lured a drug trafficking suspect with a romantic trick. The law enforcement officer dressed as a teddy bear and lured her outside with a box of chocolates. SSPDaily tells about it.
"Can you imagine Teddy Bear catching a drug dealer? On the day of love and friendship?" - joked Jose Honorio, a representative of the Peruvian National Police.
It happened in Lima, the capital of the country. The video shows the officer on one knee, holding a sign in Spanish that reads "You are my reason to smile," candy, and a heart-shaped balloon.
The suspect walks out onto the porch before the video cuts to the next shot. This time, an officer without a mask, but still dressed in a bear costume, handcuffs her. Other plainclothes officers from the city's elite Green Squad ran over to help with the arrest.
Police found several caches of heroin or similar opioids.
The video shows at least two female suspects being arrested and put into an unmarked police car. Details of the specific charges were not immediately available.
Lima's Escuadron Verde, or "Green Squad," is a plainclothes unit that tackles street crime, including robbery and drug trafficking.
In December, one of the unit's undercover officers disguised himself as Santa Claus before a drug raid. He knocked out the front door of a hard-to-reach drug den with a sledgehammer, while other officers stormed the second floor through a window.
