Globally, the need for new commercial pilots will reach 252,000 over the next decade. The demand for new commercial aircraft maintenance technicians will reach 328,000, while the number of flight attendants will reach 599,000.
This is according to a new report by CAE Inc., a Canadian manufacturer of modeling technologies. At the same time, the Middle East will need 28,000 new commercial pilots over the next 10 years. Over the same period, the region will also need 22,000 commercial aircraft maintenance technicians and 78,000 flight attendants, ZAWYA reports.
The largest number of pilots will be needed in the Asia-Pacific region - 91,000, followed by North America (63,000) and Europe (44,000).
In the Asia-Pacific region, the demand for commercial aircraft maintenance technicians and cabin crew will reach 106,000 and 224,000 people.
The CAE said that air travel is steadily recovering despite the war in Ukraine and inflationary problems.
