A waitress who received a $10,000 tip on a $32 check was fired in Benton Harbor, USA.
SSPDaily tells about it.
Lynsey Boyd worked at the Mason Jar Cafe. She was recently fired.
And now a sad footnote to this optimistic story. Earlier this week, the employers of the Mason Jar Cafe fired waitress Lynsey Boyd. Recently, a man's wake was held at the establishment. His friend decided to leave a $10,000 tip to honor his friend's memory.
This anonymous customer asked Lynsey to share the windfall with her colleagues, which she did.
"We're all very grateful for this," said Ana White, Lynsey's former coworker. "I worked here for six years. I've seen big tips, but I've never seen $10,000. So, it was very kind and sweet of him because, I mean, we're all different and we're going through different things, so that amount of money helped us all a lot."
However, earlier this week, social media reported that Lynsey Boyd had been unceremoniously fired by the café owners. These social media posts hinted at a wave of toxicity among the waiters after the huge tips.
The journalists were unable to confirm this claim. They talked to co-owner Jamie Cousins behind the scenes. She said she was limited in what she could say because it was a personnel matter. However, she confirmed that she had fired Lynsey. However, the businesswoman was adamant that the tips had nothing to do with the decision.
Meanwhile, Boyd said that it had been a pretty tough week, so she left town with her family to get some rest.
