Riverdale's Vanessa Morgan Engaged to James Karnik

Vanessa Morgan, known for her role in Riverdale, and basketball player James Karnik became engaged on December 21. This special moment came just five months after they welcomed their daughter, Kaia Autumn Skye.

Morgan announced the engagement on Instagram, sharing, "Merry Christmas Eve from me and my fiancée." The proposal took place in Canada.

James Karnik presented a stunning engagement ring. The ring features a 4.64-carat, oval-cut lab-grown diamond, set on a 14K rose gold twisted band. It also includes white and blue marquise-cut diamonds shaped like butterflies.

Vanessa described the context of the proposal, saying, "James knows how much I love Christmas, especially all the festive lights." He surprised her by taking her to the Langley Glow Light Festival that evening. Initially, she thought he would propose on Christmas morning. "It came as a complete shock when it happened," she remarked.

Karnik had sustained a foot injury at the time, making the proposal more unexpected. Vanessa remembered, "I asked him if he was sure he wanted to walk around on crutches. He responded, 'For you, I’ll do it. I know how much you love this.’"

As they strolled, she had a feeling something was amiss. He then dropped his crutches, got down on one knee, and proposed.

This year has been busy for the couple. They welcomed their baby on July 27. Morgan shared on Instagram, "Been enjoying all the baby snuggles these past 3 weeks with our angel. Beyond Grateful."

Their son, River, seems excited about becoming a big brother. Morgan noted that leading up to the birth, River asked daily, "Is baby sister coming today!?" She added that they all can't wait to meet her.
