They ate everything in sight: 100 huskies escaped from the zoo café and wreaked havoc in the shopping center
The story of 100 husky dogs that escaped from an animal café after someone forgot to lock the door has taken over social media.
This was reported by SSPDaily.
The fluffy ones almost got lost when they ran out of a café in a shopping center in Guangdong province in southeastern China.
Surveillance footage shows the happy dogs running around the mall, ignoring the calls of the café staff. They were howling and eating everything in sight.
"All the huskies ran out of the café," an employee named Huo told Xigua Video: "We were very lucky that they were found so quickly."
The incident occurred on March 12 when the owner visited her café and the huskies got very excited.
"The huskies hadn't seen the owner for a long time," says Huo.
"Then a visitor came in but forgot to lock the door, and the dogs broke free. The staff immediately ran after the agitated dogs, and one employee led some of them back into the café, while Huo picked up the rest, one by one.
After a while, most of the animals were found, leaving a few fearless huskies still enjoying their fun. With a little more effort, Huo eventually gathered them all.
"To 'punish' the naughty huskies, we gave them delicious chicken legs," Huo joked.
Pet cafés are becoming increasingly popular in China. According to Xifei Daily, 3,638 new pet cafés were opened in Shanghai in 2020. Spending one hour in a café costs from 60 yuan ($8) to 200 yuan.
