Woman kicked off airplane for excessive use of toilet
A passenger expressed her frustration online after she was removed from a WestJet flight from Mexico to Vancouver due to excessive use of the restroom before takeoff. SSPDaily tells about it.
Joanna Chiu, who claimed to have an upset stomach, was forced to leave the plane without "the promise of a hotel or rebooking a flight."
"I was on medication and recovering," Chiu wrote on X. "In a hurry to get off the plane, I left my money with my fellow passengers, and the WestJet executive refused to pay for my taxi to a hotel 20 minutes away. He called a security guard to intimidate me, but when I started crying, the guard correctly assessed that the Westjet guy was an asshole."
The executive also allegedly threatened Chiu in the baggage claim when she started filming their conflict.
"This WestJet supervisor said that if I didn't delete the video, I wouldn't be able to fly tomorrow," she shared.Chiu eventually sought help from another employee, who then refused to give her the booking number for the rebooked flight. The author noted: "It's sad that I couldn't get any help until I went public with my experience. WestJet sent me my booking number after I repeatedly asked for it at the airport. As a result, I took a taxi because I was legitimately afraid of being arrested."
Two days later, Chiu wrote that she made it to Canada. She also gave advice to travelers.
"My last word: check if your destination is known for intestinal infections. Take probiotics and so on. If you are asked to disembark, take the time to grab your wallet, passport, and medications. If staff members are abusive, ask someone to help you," Chiu said.
