Antytila band opposes Ukraine's participation in Eurovision
The members of the band Antytila commented on whether, in their opinion, Ukraine should participate in a contest such as Eurovision during a full-scale war. SSPDaily told about band's point of view on this topic.
According to the band's founder and keyboardist Serhiy Vusyk, such events are inappropriate for our country at the moment. Vusyk explained that the money could be saved and spent on helping the Ukrainian army:
"Recently, my friend and I raised the question of how to explain to Europeans and those who support Ukraine that we will be sending so much money from our country to Eurovision. Perhaps we should have refused to participate. And to say: "You see, we are saving on everything, because we need money for shells," Serhiy Vusyk expressed his opinion, hochu.ua reported.
Taras Topolia, frontman of Antytila, shares his colleague's opinion. The singer believes that next year Ukraine should think twice before agreeing to participate in Eurovision. Nevertheless, he praised our current representatives Jerry Heil and alyona alyona:
"The girls won - well done, let them go represent. What can I say now? But next year, we really need to think that maybe we should save money. And it's good that we can send from Ukraine, that we have a country to send from," Topolia said.
The 68th Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will be held this year in the Swedish city of Malmö. Ukraine will be represented by Jerry Heil and alyona alyona with the song Teresa & Maria. Earlier, the artists responded to accusations that they had unfairly won the national selection for the contest.
